Apply the framework

Describe a risk

Start with the possible harm or loss at the centre. Add the events, conditions or changes that could lead to it, and any further consequences. Read the core model (opens a new tab).

Example: Cooling equipment could fail, the cold room could become too warm, and ingredients could spoil. The restaurant could lose its chilled stock and then be unable to serve parts of its menu. Each dotted connection remains a possibility to examine.

Drag a point, or focus it and use the arrow keys. Shift moves it further.

Edit the descriptions on the graph. Select a point to add steps or a branch; select a connection to edit it. The example and your own entries stay separate.

Connect items

Connect any two items to add another path. To insert a step within an existing connection, remove that connection and connect through the new step.

Entries stay in this page only. Print your work before leaving or reloading. Reset view keeps your text, items and connections.
